Not always a sovereign nation[edit]

A principality in sense 1 is not always a sovereign nation. For example, Wales is a principality headed (but not ruled) by Charles, the Prince of Wales. RSvK 04:20, 14 Aug 2004 (UTC)

"a power"[edit]

Chambers 1908 defines this, among other things as "(obsolete) a power". This could be referring to the political state sense but I rather suspect it's referring to the specialised sense from angelology. However, our entry currently says "the fifth level of angels, ranked above powers and below dominions". Equinox 02:28, 23 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
