@Kiwima Not sure about the citations' intended meanings, but since "proto-" means "first, original" I would expect this to be something preceding/leading up to a pilgrimage, like a pre-religious rite resembling pilgrimages later in history. Equinox 00:14, 12 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
