Etymology[edit]

The ancient Greek that translates to quibbler is τερθρεύς, and other quibble-esque Greek words are similarly dissimilar to the Latin. Doesn't seem like the Latin arises from Greek in this case. Damate (talk) 15:16, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

Interesting[edit]

It's interesting that English "quibble" and Dutch "kibbel" (both languages are related to each other) have a similar sound and meaning, but have an entirely different origin, the English word being derived from a Latin diminutive, the Dutch one being derived from a frequentative. 94.224.27.120 10:19, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
