A computer (technology).  – Jberkel 08:22, 29 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Possibly relevant: Stepped reckoner. 98.170.164.88 19:15, 29 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yes, but that's a mechanical calculator, not a computer (programmable electronic device). – Jberkel 20:10, 29 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
However, that sense is missing, so maybe it should say "mechanical calculator" instead of "computer (technology)". Perhaps this is what the editor had in mind. – Jberkel 16:14, 30 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I wonder if this might be from some fictional franchise. There is ready reckoner, and there are plenty of sci-fi and fantasy works that use alternate names for things to give a stronger suggestion of a parallel world, like Philip Pullman's "anbaric" (electronic), "gyptians" (gypsies), etc. etc. Equinox 23:23, 1 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
We need parallel fictional Wiktionaries. My guess is that it could be a calque of German Rechner. – Jberkel 11:34, 2 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
For what it's worth, this is an Anglish term. Binarystep (talk) 08:39, 4 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Interesting. And as such probably not attestable. – Jberkel 09:24, 4 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
