Talk:ski'd

On what grounds was this form marked as nonstandard? I have two Oxford English dictionaries, one from the 1960s and one from the 1980s, and they both give ski'd as the only correct past tense form of to ski. Now, was the spelling changed since 1985? And if so, does that make it nonstandard? I'd rather say dated or obsolete.
