I've added a definition which I think is fairly accurate but would appreciate other Wiktionarian's modifications or comments. -- Paul G 17:55, 17 Jan 2004 (UTC)

Probably should be noted that Ned Kelly famously said this, after he was sentenced I think. --Vladisdead 13:57, 15 Sep 2004 (UTC)

I went to add the Ned Kelly quote but see you beat me to it. But I think it was his last words before hanging.--Dmol 09:19, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Misfortune?[edit]

Does "such is life" necessarily have to imply a reaction to misfortune? I was at a Reggae Sunsplash concert where the host looked out at the cheering crowd, broke out in a big smile, and said "Yes indeed my friends! Such is life!" — This unsigned comment was added by Mark Millard (talkcontribs) at 16:36, 2 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]
