In french , "dézinguer"

exists ( Le Petit Larousse , p.318), & relates, I think, to the image of a house being deprived of its upper zinc roofing and weathercock by a sqall. I heard it some decades ago, on a great national broadcasting station, from the mouth of a well-known late political leader : "Non bien sûr, je ne veux pas le dézinguer, mais le France serait mieux sans lui..." ("Of course not, I do not want to overthrow him, but France would be a lot better without him..."). Could Cromwell have used it ? T.y. Arapaima 09:25, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
