Is it redundant to say “swerve around” e.g. “The car swerved around the tree.“

English speech and writing is full of redundancies. How would you express the relationship between "swerve" and "tree" without a preposition? DCDuring TALK 12:07, 19 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
