Science fiction[edit]

Interestingly, I just spotted this word in a sci-fi story from 1958, where it refers to some sort of imaginary "magazine on tape" from the future (along the lines of holobook):

  • 1958, Fantastic Universe: Science Fiction (volume 10, issues 1-5, page 33)
After prolonged exposure to the cliches of TV and tapezine cloak and dagger affairs, Stark expected Myra to be a slinky, sloe-eyed heroine of melodrama with sprayed-on evening gown and dripping jewels.
