Is this word related to the Norwegian word «trøske» (which means the same [2nd meaning, the infection])? It looks like «trøske» could be derived from the Proto-Germanic word as well. The free Norwegian online dictionaries («Bokmåls-og Nynorskordboka») does not have any information on its source, except that it is related to «trøsk» (a less common word meaning frog). 9E2 00:10, 1 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
