Translation of Czech "tvaroh"[edit]

Following English Wikipedia, Czech "tvaroh" could be translated as "Quark"[1], akin to German "Quark", which is a correct German expression for Czech "tvaroh". A German synonym for "Quark" is AFAIK "Frischkäse", which always made me wonder, as "tvaroh" is in my eyes quite a distinct milk product from cheese, with completely different taste, with possible 0.1% of fat, which is not seen with cheese AFAIK. At least, the product I have bought in Germany under the label "Frischkäse" tasted exactly like "tvaroh". The direct translation of German "Frischkäse" into English is "fresh cheese". Another translation of "tvaroh" could be "curd cheese"[2]. The product sold in the Czech Republic under the label "cottage cheese" is definitely different from "tvaroh". --Daniel Polansky 13:27, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
