Common misspelling?[edit]

I don't have an opinion on how to spell "variant." I've never seen it spelled "varient," except for one time, today, in my 1985 Webster's New world Thesaurus. Not to give too much credit to Simon & Schuster or Charlton Grant (the author of the original in 1901), but is there a chance "varient" may just be an archaic spelling rather than a misspelling?--Mrcolj (talk) 16:49, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
