Talk:veteran

The Economist Style Guide seems to imply that British English prefers "ex-serviceman" for all veterans and "veteran" only for those ex-servicemen who served during wartime. However, I find this distinction to be unsupported by this or several other online dictionaries. Are they just being sumpsimuses here? or is this just an Oxbridge thing? -114.91.66.77 10:10, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
