"vocative singular of vox"

Shouldn't it say that it's the nominative singular of vox as well? In fact, add that to all the entries on wiktionary. Why does it say this when it says right there in the inflection box? Mallerd 18:30, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't need to say nominative singular, as that is presumed from the fact that the lemma entry is there. Lemma entries are at the nominative singular form, thus since this is a lemma entry, the form must be nominative singular. As for why vocative singular when it's in the box, that's a stickier issue. We haven't fully resolved (to my satisfaction at least) how we should be formatting inflected forms, especially when they intersect with "real" forms. It's the 2nd person singular present active imperative form of λαλέω (laléō, “I speak, chatter, babble”). So, it could be translated as "speak to me" or perhaps "make sounds in my direction." -Atelaes λάλει ἐμοί 16:34, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
