In political discourse[edit]

In recent years, the word "whiner" seems to have become LimbaughSpeak for anyone who criticizes anything about the Bush administration. The most recent highly visible example is Wikipedia:Phil Gramm#"Whining" comments controversy.

I'll do some looking to see if my suspicion can be backed up with reliable verifiable sources. If so, what would be the proper format for such an entry? Would it be slang or a colloquialism? I'm a newbie to Wiktionary, so please advise. Thanks. --Arthur Smart 13:05, 11 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

It doesn't seem like a new meaning, just an application of the word. DCDuring TALK 09:50, 12 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
