Adjective: Wrapt in this sense is a miss spelling of rapt AFAIK. Needs citing or deleting.

It is easy to cite (~650 raw hits for "wrapt attention" on Google books, compared to 2200 for "rapt attention"), but the question is whether to present it to users as a common misspelling, a misconstruction, or a confounded etymology. No dictionary I've found includes the adjective. Now under discussion at Tea Room. DCDuring TALK 15:23, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tea room discussion[edit]

Note: the below discussion was moved from the Wiktionary:Tea room.

As an adjective, it has about the same meaning as [[rapt]]. The phrase "wrapt attention" has 650 raw bgc hits, nearly a third as many as "rapt attention". Although we could certainly call it a common misspelling of "rapt" or as a misconstruction, to me it appears as if it might also be considered as its own word with an etymology based on "wrap", "influenced by" "rapt".
