Talk:yern
I removed the following quote, as it is in (Middle?) Scots, I think
- c. 1500, William Dunbar, The Tua Mariit Wemen and the Wedo
- He trowis that ȝoung folk I ȝern ȝeild.
- c. 1500, William Dunbar, The Tua Mariit Wemen and the Wedo

- Nothing modern in OED, although there is a word jern in EDD that OED identifies with yern. This, that and the other (talk) 11:37, 14 March 2022 (UTC)

- @J3133 Could you give a bit more background concerning the situation here? Is there a dispute over the inclusion of these words as English, or are you instead concerned about out-of-process removals? Is this user to be doubted/not trusted for some reason? Bringing 49 entries to RFV all at once is no small matter. This, that and the other (talk) 01:10, 20 February 2022 (UTC)
- @This, that and the other: As you said, I am “concerned about out-of-process removals”. They should not be removed if they have not been through RFV. J3133 (talk) 01:15, 20 February 2022 (UTC)
- I've been through them all, cited a couple, and offered my initial impression of whether they are likely to pass or not. A few are (in my opinion) clear fails that will get deleted in a month's time, a few are clear passes and just need cites to be found, but most are marginal and will require a lot more work.
