This template generates an etymology for small katakana characters.

Usage[edit]

Place this template below the etymology header of any applicable entry.

Parameters[edit]

Positional (unnamed) parameters:

  • |1= The normal (big) version of the character.
  • |2= The romanization of the big version.

Named parameters:

  • |lang= The code of the language. If empty, Japanese will be assumed.

Examples in Japanese[edit]

  • The entry should contain:
{{Hira-small|ア|a}}
  • The entry should contain:
{{Hira-small|ユ|yu}}

Examples in Ainu[edit]

  • The entry should contain:
{{Hira-small|リ|ri|lang=ain}}
  • The entry should contain:
{{Hira-small|ス|su|lang=ain}}
