Use this template in the etymology section for Japanese -shiku adjectives.

Usage[edit]

  • First parameter: the formal adjective in conclusive form in Japanese script.
  • Second parameter: romanization of the formal adjectival.
Examples
Code {{ja-adj-shiku|新し|atarashi}}
Gives From the 連体形 (rentaikei, attributive form) of Early Middle Japanese adjective 新し (atarashi), with the medial /-k-/ falling out.
Code {{ja-adj-shiku|美し|utsukushi}}
Gives From the 連体形 (rentaikei, attributive form) of Early Middle Japanese adjective 美し (utsukushi), with the medial /-k-/ falling out.

There is an optional nocap parameter. Enter any value to cause the template to output with the first letter in lower case.
