This is something I do to make use of the time on my subway commute: my computer has a dictionary app that uses the New Oxford American Dictionary as its source, and I skim through the entries looking for any that refer directly or indirectly to specific organisms or types of organisms, then copypaste the headword of any I find into a text file. This is all very subjective and hit-or-miss, but it's good enough to be helpful as a check on our coverage.
