firestop[edit]

Thanks for your contribution. I did a little formatting and dramatically shortened the newer definition to make it more like a dictionary definition. The user will have to go the WP to get more, which is probably how it should be. Is there any photo or drawing on wikicommons that illustrates the new sense of firestop? I'll try to find one of a fireblock. DCDuring TALK 15:38, 25 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • OK, I just put a note on your page. If you want pictures, check this:

I just scanned through your page and it looks like I suggested a firestop picture to you before. As for fireblocking, it's either a piece of stud or joist that blocks off a cavity in timber construction. It's not really a trade or industry. It's more like jury-rigging. Firestopping is a whole industry. --Achim Hering (talk) 15:44, 25 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for not following through then.
I added an image that shows two types of firestops for pipe penetrations, to suggest that there might be some variety. I also added a link to the Commons category. Feel free to edit the caption or anything else. More entries are welcome. DCDuring TALK 19:06, 25 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Looks much better now. The links to Commons and Wikipedia help also. --Achim Hering (talk) 19:13, 25 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
