Mark, I can see you're interested in words...great! The entry for Tyning, while lovely, is the sort of thing that will probably get flagged as encyclopaedic without a bit more care. The folks at WikiTree would probably love that sort of detail, though, and your entry could still work here with some attention. SemperBlotto has some interest in names and may be able to offer some suggestions for making it more dictionary-worthy. (You can tell him I sent you.)

What follows is some standard welcome text, since it contains some good help pages. --Dvortygirl 18:27, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wiktionary. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wiktionarian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk (discussion) and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~, which automatically produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the beer parlour or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome!

Hello Mark. Yes, it is quite interesting (I am a Bristolian), but it is definitely not dictionary material. If you give it a good edit (and move everything else to Wikipedia) you might get away with it. By the way, there is also a Tyning Wood in Sussex and a Tyning in Armagh. Cheers.
