Telepathy[edit]

Is telepathy fictional even in fiction? Is Harry Potter a supposed magician or just a magician? --Saint-Louis (talk) 18:47, 28 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You will find a lot of dictionaries define e.g. dragon as "fabulous creature", unicorn as "imaginary animal". It's useful in the definition. Equinox 19:16, 28 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Faboulous creature is ok because a fable is a literary genre. The unicorn is described as mythical in the Oxford dictionary which falls into the same category. However, imaginary is a not a literary term but a psychological. It would mean that a unicorn in a fable would be a product of the character's mind. Thus, a definition of the unicorn as "imaginary animal" would be wrong. Same is true for Telepathy as "supposed ability". It would mean that occurence of Telepathy in fiction is only a supposed ability.
