- And remember that a descriptive dictionary describes usage, rather than dictating rules. It's clear that "damn straight" is how the phrase is spelled and pronounced in most cases. - good point. its lack of proper enunciation is so common that people actually don't know that it's not really spelled that way, so it's common to also misspell it. i guess that i should have done that rather than trying to convince every one else they are misspelling the word. it appears that some still do it correctly [2]
