Orthography[edit]

  • We use the manuscript or Runic orthography unchanged, apart from vowel length marked by acutes as in normalized Old Norse.

Sources[edit]

The primary sources are:

  • The law of the Gutes (Guta lag)
  • The history of the Gutes (Guta saga), appended to the law
  • Runic inscriptions from Gotland.

Pretty much the entire corpus is edited in Gutniska urkunder by Carl Säve (1859), available for free on Swedish Wikisource.[1]
