    • 1919, William B. Campbell, Hand‐Book of Modern Treatment and Medical Formulary[1], page 26:
      It is preferable to anæsthetize in an adjoining room, or to cause all but the anæsthetist and one assistant to leave the room until the patient is thoroughly under the influence of the anæsthetic.
