From Proto-Albanian *buklā, derivative of *buk- ‘lush, lusty’, from Proto-Indo-European *bʰoHu- ‘to grow, swell’. More at bukur ‘nice’. For sense development, compare Latin lascivia ‘mink’, from lascivus ‘wanton’.
