Etymology[edit]
Derived from the curse word djöfull (“devil”) by imitating the endings of the related adverbial curse words andskoti, fjandi, etc.[1] (Djöfulli can not be naturally derived from djöfull by itself).
Appears in the mid-20th century.[1]
