Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish كافی (kāfi, sufficing, sufficient, The All-Sufficing God),[1][2] from Arabic كَافٍ (kāfin), active participle of كَفَى (kafā, to be enough for (someone), to protect, to spare).[3]
