Tocharian A[edit]

Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Tocharian *kät- (whence also Tocharian B kät-), from Proto-Indo-European *skeyd- (to split, scatter). Cognate with English scatter, Lithuanian kedėti (to burst), and many other words in the IE family.
