      To do so, we measured the transmittance at 560nm of ATCC 1161 medium employed to grow diverse bacteria belonging to the class of mollicutes, and observed that the color change caused by acidification of the medium was accurately detected by the VCCD. A linear correlation was observed between transmittance at 560nm and pH from ~6 to 7 (Fig 3D ).
