Etymology[edit]
ná- (“around”) + -y- (3rd person object prefix) + -oo- (yi-progressive 3rd person subject prefix) + -ł- (classifier, causative) + -tʼih (progressive stem of root -TʼIʼ, “a slender flexible object extends”).

- he/she is in the process of extending or stretching it around, of making an enclosure with it (as with wire, rope, fence)
