Lithuanian[edit]

Verb[edit]

prãšom

  1. first-person plural present of prašyti

Usage notes[edit]

Shorter form of prãšome.

Interjection[edit]

prãšom

  1. please
  2. you're welcome
  3. here you are

Usage notes[edit]

Although originally grammatically plural, prãšom is more common than prašaũ even when speaking on behalf of only one person. Balčikonis recommended prãšom over prašaũ, but in actual speech both may be used. There are also subjunctive forms prašýčiau (singular) and prašýtume (plural), used in literary language to further emphasize politeness and non-absoluteness.
