Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Austroasiatic *sliŋ ~ sliiŋ ~ sliəŋ ~ slaiŋ (to be tilted, to squint). Cognate with Bahnar pliːŋ (to squint) and Khmer ស្រលៀង (srɑliəng, cross-eyed), as well as with Bahnar həreːŋ (to lean over). Doublet of sharing.[1]
