From *körä (according to), earliest attested in the Legend of Oghuz-Khaghan in 13th century.

Compare to Old Uyghur [script needed] (körä, according to); Kumyk гёре (göre, according to), Southern Altai кӧрӧ (körö, beside), Uzbek koʻra (according to), Uyghur كۈرە (küre, according to), Turkish göre (according to).
