Cognate with Old Turkic 𐰃𐰠𐰚 (ilk, first), Karakhanid اِلْكْ (ilk, first, firstly); Tatar элек (elek, before, earlier), Uzbek ilk (first; early), Turkish ilk (first), Tuvan элек (elek, early, not yet), Yakut илик (ilik, not yet), Chuvash ӗлӗк (ĕlĕk, before, in old times; ago).
