Etymology[edit]
First attested in the Seokbo sangjeol (釋譜詳節 / 석보상절), 1447, as Middle Korean 두〯ᅀᅥ〯 (Yale: twǔzě), a compound of 둘 (twul, “two”) + 서 (se, “three”, variant of 셓 (seyh)).
