Etymology

First attested in the Seokbo sangjeol (釋譜詳節 / 석보상절), 1447, as Middle Korean 올마가다 (Yale: wolmakata). Equivalent to 옮— (om-) + —아— (-a-) + 가— (ga-) + —다 (-da).
