ávíta fyrir (weak verb, third-person singular past indicative ávítaði fyrri, supine ávítað fyrri)
- (ditransitive, governs the accusative and the accusative) to reprimand somebody for something, to scold somebody for something
- Keisarinn ávítaði þjóninn duglega fyrir gjörðir hans.
- The emperor reprimanded the servant thoroughly for his actions.
