Etymology

[edit]

Ostensibly, адмиралте́йство (admiraltéjstvo) +‎ -ски (-ski), replacing the -ство (-stvo, -hood) suffix with -ски (-ski, -ic, relational adjective suffix). адмиралте́йство (admiraltéjstvo) is originally a borrowing from Russian, in turn from Dutch, so one could also analyze this term as Dutch admiraliteit +‎ -ски (-ski).
