Etymology[edit]
From кәңәш (kəñəş, “advice”) + -се (-se, affix forming an agent noun).
Compare to Old Uyghur [script needed] (keŋäšči, “advice-giver”); Tatar киңәшче (kiñäşçe), Kazakh кеңесші (keñesşı), Kyrgyz кеңешчи (keŋeşci), Uzbek kengashchi, Turkmen geňeşçi (“advice-giver, advisor”).
