Cognate with Tatar коры (qorı), Karachay-Balkar къуру (quru), Uzbek quruq, Uyghur قۇرۇق (quruq), Khakas хуруғ (xuruğ), Turkish kuru (dry), Chuvash хӑрӑк (hărăk, dry (of wood)).
