From Proto-Semitic [Term?]. Compare Arabic رَأَى (raʔā), Ge'ez ርእየ (rəʾyä).

רָאָה • (ra'á) third-singular masculine past (pa'al construction, infinitive לִרְאוֹת, passive counterpart נִרְאָה)

1. To see, to have vision; figuratively, to perceive.

   רָאִיתִי חָבֵר שֶׁלִּי בַּחֲנוּת וְשָׁכַחְתִּי לִקְנוֹת חָלָב.

   ra'íti khavér shelí bakhanút v'shakhákhti liknót khaláv.

   I saw a friend of mine at the store and forgot to buy milk.

2. (archaic) To observe, look at; figuratively, to consider.
3. (רְאֵה, r'é) masculine singular imperative of רָאָה
