Etymology[edit]
From ث د ي (ṯ-d-y), from Proto-Semitic *ṯdʾ (“breast, pap, teat, mammary”). Cognate with Hebrew שָׁד (šad, “breast”) and Aramaic תַּדָּא (“breast”).
