Etymology[edit]
From Proto-Sino-Tibetan *s/d-krwak (“fear; frighten”). Cognate with Nuosu ꐬ (jjur) (as in ꐬꆠ (jjur hla, “to fear”)), Tibetan སྐྲག་པ་ (skrag pa, “to be afraid”) and Drung vkraq (“to be surprised, to be frightened”).
