- Indicates movement from the speaker (see, მიტანა (miṭana))
- Derives perfective verbs from imperfective ones (see, მიხვრეტა (mixvreṭa), ხვრეტა (xvreṭa))
- Makes the future tense from the present (see, მიალაგებს (mialagebs), ალაგებს (alagebs))
- Sometimes changes the meaning of a verb (see, მიხვდება (mixvdeba), დახვდება (daxvdeba))
