Inherited from Pre-Angkorian Old Khmer តិះ (tiḥ), *តិស៑ (*tis), *តេះ (*teḥ) (first attested in 578-677 as tiḥ). Cognate with Thai ติ (dtì), Northern Thai ᨲᩥ, Lao ຕິ (ti).
