Etymology[edit]
From -er- + -emmo.
- -er- is the reduced form of the Italian infinitive endings -are and -ere.
- -emmo stems from Vulgar Latin hĕbuimus, which stems from classical Latin habuimus, first-person plural perfect of habeō.[1]
