From Middle Breton Nedelec, from Old Breton Notolic, from Proto-Brythonic *Nọdọlɨg (“Christmas”), from Latin nātālīcius, nātālīcia (“birthday”). Cognate with Cornish Nadelik, Welsh Nadolig.
