Proto-Basque[edit]

Suffix[edit]

*-g

  1. Forms absolutive plurals.

Reconstruction notes[edit]

The inflected forms of Basque plural demonstratives exhibit an apparent plural marker -e-. Case suffixes added after *-g would require an epenthetic *-e-. The resulting intervocalic *-g- would then be lost. However, this hypothesis is tentative.

Descendants[edit]
  • ? Basque: -ak
